Our Story

For almost 30 years, Burri Insurance has been delivering specialized insurance solutions to Dioceses, Religious Orders, and Catholic Institutions across the country. Opened in rural South Carolina, Burri and Company was a local life insurance provider. Owner and founder Dean Burri, was a devout Catholic that worked with a small religious order as a volunteer on their financial committee. He made a startling discovery when he reviewed their health insurance plans. The order was massively overpaying their insurance and receiving benefits that did little to no good. Within a matter of hours, he was able to restructure the plan in such a way that it reduced costs and radically improved the order’s benefits.

Inspired, Mr. Burri restructured the company and sought to help the Catholic Church, namely small orders and dioceses that were often overlooked by larger agencies.  Within a few years he had a staff in South Carolina of over 20 employees to meet the service needs of his clients, numerous dioceses and religious orders as clients, and an executive office in Florida for Burri Insurance

Burri Insurance has continued to grow. They have expanded to serve clients outside the Catholic Church, but still want their employee benefits to align with Church teaching, developed private label Medicare Supplemental policies for Catholic Religious with vows of poverty, and acquired access to reduced pharmaceutical costs for qualified clients.
